As we approach annual conference at Easter the NASUWT will publish it’s annual report. But here’s a quick update on what Leicestershire NASUWT has been up to.
We have secured improvements in schools facing restructures, including securing an industrial ballot where members felt there was inadequate consultation. We are continuing to support members in several restructures that are ongoing.
We have balloted members to successfully protect a rep that was being unfairly targeted.
We have secured improved pay awards in five private schools through the threat of industrial action.
We are the first association to have won an employment tribunal against the practice of fire and rehire .
We continue to fight the announced closure at the Amherst school in Loughborough. The only teachers union to have been present throughout.
We submitted five motions to Annual conference. With one being on the final agenda alongside an amendment from the association.
We are nominating a number of activists to take part in national advisory committees.
Once again we will be taking one of the largest delegations in the country to conference with 20 delegates.
Our groups of reps and activists is growing, if you want to get involved please get in contact either through Facebook or at secretary.leicestershire@nasuwt.org.uk
