The L28 Leicestershire Local Association is a vibrant and committed collection of individuals who are dedicated to the protection of Leicestershire teachers’ right and to the collective advancement of NASUWT aims. We are comprised of an Executive Committee who meets to support the needs and encourage the activism of local teachers, and is led by President Luke Akhurst, who chairs our meetings, assisted by Vice President Claire Gee.
We have also recently welcomed our new Social Secretary Alice McKenna who has been responsible, alongside local representatives, for building the events calendar for the Local Association, ably assisted by Treasurer Oliver Swain. Furthermore, our Equalities Officer, Tamara, provides essential support to members who are under-represented in the workplace, and promotes and organises the cause of equal opportunities within the association.
Our representation at Annual Conference is a highlight of the year, where we represent motions overseen by the Executive Committee. We are always looking to further involve members in the running of the L28 Leicestershire Local Association, so please get in touch if you think this could be you.
Our News section is populated with stories and events which are more local to us here at NASUWT Leicestershire, please feel free to send us news, information or events which would benefit or interest our local members.
