The NASUWT believes that assessment is key to effective approaches to teaching and learning.
Teachers cannot teach and pupils cannot learn in an environment where there is disruption and violence, and, where such behaviour occurs, it cannot be explained away simply by attributing it to a teacher’s inability to plan and deliver a lesson effectively.
The NASUWT believes that all children and young people and staff in schools have a right to learn and work in a safe and secure environment, free from intimidation, harassment, abuse and fear and where they feel valued and respected.
Children and Young People
The NASUWT believes that the educational success and wider wellbeing of children and young people is dependent on ensuring that their legitimate rights and entitlements are respected in all aspects of their lives, both within and beyond school.
